At Origin Performance, we take a movement-first approach to your care. Our goal is simple: to help you move the way God originally intended—free from unnecessary restrictions—so you can recover faster, move better, and keep doing what you love.
Selective
Movement Assessment
What separates us from the rest is how we determine the best course of treatment, most healthcare providers will only seek to figure out what tissue is hurt instead of figuring out why it’s hurt in the first place. During the functional movement assessment, we can see what areas of the body are not moving or stabilizing the way that they are supposed to, identifying movement inefficiencies, muscle imbalances, and mobility restrictions. In doing this we can identify the source of what is impacting performance and increasing injury risk. During the assessment we will be looking at key patterns such as squatting, bending over, reaching back, gait, as well as sport specific movements to identify these asymmetries and compensations. By using movement quality as the assessment, we are able to create a more targeted and specific treatment plan, catered just for you, that is focused on improving overall function and not just treating the symptom of pain.
CHIROPRACTIC
We are not the run of the mill chiropractor, we believe chiropractic can do amazing things to help restore range of motion and improve joint health. With the adjustment, contrary to popular belief, we are not moving a bone from one place to the other. However, we are stressing the joint capsule creating a neuro-feedback loop. When this happens we are helping to give your body an increase in proprioception - which is how your body knows where it is in space. When this happens, it’s like a lightbulb turning on in your brain. Because your brain is more aware of the joints position, there is a decrease in pain reception activity (invocation), a decrease in muscle spasticity, and improvement of local joint mobility.
Functional Rehabilitation
A healthy tissue is a strong tissue meaning our bodies are meant to move and move often. Because we are a movement centered clinic, during each visit we will be moving as much as we can, working on the areas needed determined by the in-depth functional movement screen done during the initial visit. Rehab exercises at Origin are more than just stretching and light band work, our goal is to create stronger tissues to not only get you back to where you once were, but better than ever before. Our desire is to help you in unlocking your full movement potential ensuring you don’t get stuck in a loop of getting hurt over and over again.
Functional Dry Needling
Dry needling is a treatment that relieves muscle tension, reduces pain, and improves movement by inserting thin, sterile needles into tight or irritated muscles. The needles stimulate trigger points, release tension, improve blood flow, and reset nerve signaling to reduce pain and restore function. Dry needling also helps regulate the sympathetic nervous system—which controls the body’s fight-or-flight response—by reducing excessive muscle guarding, improving circulation, and calming stress-related pain signals. This shift promotes a parasympathetic response, allowing the body to relax, heal, and restore proper function. If you’re dealing with muscle tightness, joint pain, or movement issues, dry needling may help. Our team can determine if it’s a good fit for your treatment plan.
Soft Tissue Techniques
Soft tissue therapies are hands-on techniques designed to relieve muscle tension, improve mobility, and enhance recovery. These methods target muscles, fascia, and connective tissues to keep your body moving efficiently and performing at its best. By improving circulation and restoring tissue elasticity, soft tissue therapies help reduce pain, enhance flexibility, and speed up recovery. From Active Release Technique, to deep tissue manual therapy, to cupping and scraping, there are multiple soft tissue modalities available to be used to achieve those goals. Whether you’re training hard, recovering from an injury, or trying to move better, these techniques can help you stay active and perform at your peak.
Titleist performance institute screen
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is a comprehensive system that was originally developed for golfers that assesses biomechanics to optimize performance and prevent injuries. The components of a TPI screen are adaptable and can benefit all athletes, especially those in rotational sports such as baseball and tennis. By identifying mobility restrictions, muscle imbalances, and stability issues, TPI assessments help with creating a customized plan to improve mechanics and optimizing movement patterns that fit into a person's individual athletic potential, helping to maximize performance in any sport.
